New web-site for apologetics28-05-2010 |
Hi, I’d like to introduce you to a brand new web-site about Christian evidences: www.apologetics.dk. Its purpose is not to compete with other sites, but to complement them with materials that I show to our congregation plus some extras. During 2010 you will see new series about The Reliability of the Bible, OT Archaeology and The Book of Esther. Several independent presentations like Theodicy (the problem of human suffering), Jesus in the OT and Cosmology through history will also be added, as well as two on Evolution. You can get a notification email, whenever there is new material added to the site, by signing up. Any comments are welcome. Enjoy / Sten J. |
Wedding!22-05-2010 |
It was with pleasure and delight that we saw Katja and Nathan get married this beautiful day in May. In a combined Danish/Canadian ceremony, they made their vows. They were glowing and smiling, and the children were looking forward to the gorgeous wedding cake. We wish them a great honey-moon and a happy life together.

Guests from Stockholom24-04-2010 |
Chris and Kim visited us over the weekend. They now live in Stockholm, where they are part of the church leadership. It was great to see them again. We got a lot of input; both individually and collectively, as Chris held an encouraging and challenging sermon.

We were lucky to have Reese visiting us on his yearly “World Tour”. It is always encouraging to se him and to hear him talk about faith. This time we heard a class about the book of Daniel, which was relevant for us in Denmark today. Thank you for your willingness to come over here to inspire us.

A new year07-01-2010 |
As it is our tradition, many of the disciples from Copenhagen ended the old year, and began a new; with a great party on our annual newyears-camp. Disciples from all over Europe, came to fellowship and party with us from the 28th of December to the 1st of January. It was good to renew old friendships and to gain new ones. This year we had the camp in Gribskov, which was a new experience. And an old dream came true for Henning and Ulf, who planned the camp, when Andy Fleming took part of it with his family, and gave inspiring lessons from the bible during the days we were together. Thanks to everybody who were there, and to Henning and Ulf and those who helped to arrange the camp! |

Now it’s time for another apologetic series, where Sten shows some short PowerPoint presentations, to look at the close correspondence between what archaeology and the Bible teaches us. The series will be a part of the Sunday Services during October – come and see! |
Eckerö 2009: Seek first His kingdom31-07-2009 |
In week 31 the majority of the church was at Eckerö for the annual Nordic Conference with faithbuilding and inspiring speeches based on the bible about getting back to having a wholehearted relationship with God and go through a personal spiritual revival. There were speakers from USA, Ukraine and the other Nordic churches. It was a good time to build stronger ties between the churches and gain some friends.
We would like to thank Stockholm church for putting all the time and effort into making Eckerö possible year after year. |
Churchservice Sun July 26th & Aug 2nd22-07-2009 |

The Nordic Churches will have their annual summer conference on an island in Finland. This event will take place in week 31. If you’d like to attend on July 26th or Aug 2nd, please contact our webmaster for more specific information (address). We wish you a great summer 2009! |
Baptism10-07-2009 |
|
Friday July 10th Anne Mette was baptized in Mads’s and Elisabeth’s garden. After having studied the bible for a while with sisters from the church, she took the decision to have Jesus as Lord in her life Congratulations and welcome to Anne Mette! After the baptism we celebrated with singing, music and good food. Mike turned on the barbeques and we had a summer party, in spite of all the rain that came in the course of the evening. |
Family Camp in Hvalsø and communion service in Valby Sunday May 7th03-06-2009 |
|
The families with children have planned a great retreat on the countryside this coming weekend (Fri May 4th to Sun May 7th). The purpose of this trip is partly that the children have great fun with each other and also great times with their families. The other purpose is for the parents to get an opportunity to share experiences and seek advice on how to raise up their children in a godly way, and how to meet their children’s needs in the best and most loving way. The weekend will end up with a children’s service at the camp (in Hvalsø). For the rest of us who are not joining the camp, the Sunday service on May 7th will be held in Valby, Copenhagen at 4 PM. Everybody is welcome to join us here for a communion service and fellowship. For more information please contact webmaster or the one who has invited you. |
